At Adaklu-Ablornu in the Adaklu District of the Volta Region, a community-based health planning and services (CHPS) complex has been officially opened.

The District Performance Assessment Tool (DAPT) of the district assembly provided funding for the project, which had a cost of GH290,000. It features two hospital beds as well as two delivery beds.

The tape-cutting event was conducted by the Queen of Adaklu-Ablornu, Mama Dzuenyeakpe III, and the District Chief Executive, Juliana Kpedekpo.

The facility, according to Ms. Kpedekpo, is just another illustration of the value that the government places on primary healthcare in the nation.

She indicated that the assembly will shortly begin building a group of nurse's quarters on the CHPS property.

Mama Dzuenyeakpe, for her part, applauded the government's ongoing development initiatives, not just in Adaklu but throughout the country.

The event's chair, Mama Dzuenyeakpe, pleaded with the locals to always keep good relations with the nurses at the CHPS complex in order to ensure efficient healthcare delivery from the institution.

In order to decrease the number of cases within the CHPS facility, she also pleaded with the populace to uphold a culture of personal hygiene.

Mama Dzuenyeakpe said, "Despite the CHPS compound, we must also make intentional efforts to maintain our health."

The CHPS complex, according to Mathew Ayamba, district director of health, represents a significant improvement in the district's ability to provide healthcare.

He stated that the institution now had a staff of three and made a request for two additional nurses to improve the quality of its service.

When preparations to build nurses' quarters at the CHPS compound were being made, Mr. Ayamba begged the community to provide the nurses with housing in the interim.

In order to ensure the comfort of the employees and patients at CHPS, the district director of health also emphasized the necessity of a consistent water supply to the facility.
