On World Malaria Day, which was held on Tuesday, Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited, a member of the Tobinco Group of Companies, collaborated with the Church of Pentecost (CoP) Women's Ministry to increase public awareness of malaria.
Both parties simultaneously ran statewide awareness efforts to eradicate malaria by 2030 as the globe commemorated Malaria Day.
Separate teams started public education campaigns on malaria in the Western Region's Jabuaso, the Ashanti Region's Asokwa, and the Volta Region's Ho.
Tobinco Pharmaceuticals organized a free health screening exercise in Juaboso along with a cleanup exercise for hundreds of locals.
The Ashiaman was the focus of the educational effort in the Greater Accra area, which featured a sizable float.
The float made its way from Ashaiman to Teshie Nungua before arriving at Agbogbloshie market, where traders and market women received advice on the value of keeping a clean environment to stave off the lethal illness.
Every year on April 25, people throughout the world observe World Malaria Day to honor the fight against malaria.
The celebration's theme for this year is "Time to Deliver Zero Malaria: Invest, Innovate, Implement."
Tobinco Pharmaceuticals' Dr. Christopher Mensah, the company's deputy managing director of marketing, pleaded with the government to step up its efforts to combat the illness.
He believed that the float would do much to inform the locals about maintaining a clean environment and assisting in the goal of eliminating malaria.
Along with the float, he added that on Saturday, April 29, 2023, there will be a health screening at Ashaiman, and anyone who tests positive for malaria will receive treatment or medication.
Also taking time away from their hectic schedules were health experts from the Church of Pentecost and other organizations. To inform viewers and listeners about the risks of malaria and how to prevent it, they made appearances on a variety of radio and television broadcasts.
Within a few years, according to Dr. Elshadai Aboagye of the Church of Pentecost Women's Ministry, Ghana might be free of malaria.
