The Kaneshie Senior High Technical School (KATECO) library in the Greater Accra Region has undergone renovations thanks to the Central University (CU) Library Directorate.

The refurbishment was a charitable act carried out by the library administration of the university in honor of Library Week and its 25th anniversary.

The refurbishment of the Kateco library is in line with the university's goals of having an impact on lives in society, according to Francisca Yaba Asante, the librarian in charge of the CU Library Directorate, who revealed this to the Daily Graphic on the sidelines of the 25th Central University Library Week celebration.

She said that because Kateco Library was located closer to the Central University Library's original location than other options, the directorate chose it.

She said, "The value of a school library cannot be overstated, and that is what inspired us to tackle this project as a directorate." A library is a reservoir of information and an essential and important part of every academic or intellectual institution.

Commendation

Mrs. Asante thanked Central University's administration for helping the Library Directorate renovate the Kateco Library, which she claimed the CU Library had adopted. She pleaded with the staff and students who would use the facility to take excellent care of it and utilize its resources as much as possible.

Paul Agyiri Mensah, the headmaster of KATECO, expressed gratitude to CU for the help.

She said that the CU Library will establish a motivational nook in the library in 2020 to act as a counseling center and a place for facility users to vent, a move that is producing favorable results.
