The Asafo AEDA Basic School in the Central Region's Agona East District remained abandoned for about 35 years. Due to the buildings' poor condition and lack of rehabilitation work, students and staff were forced to attend the school in a state of terror.
Teachers and students waited helplessly in the hope that one day their school would receive a makeover befitting a contemporary classroom. They pinned their hopes on this idea and supported it with intense daily prayers.
As a result, when the Myhelp-Yourhelp Foundation, a Christian humanitarian organization, along with JODI Construction, visited to undertake a needs assessment of the school, it became a "dream come true" moment for the students and instructors.
The instructors and students at the school found some solace in the needs assessment alone, knowing that at least someone else had heard their misery and prayers.
Asafo AEDA Basic School was renovated by the Myhelp-Yourhelp Foundation, which also linked the institution to the Central Region supply line of the Ghana Water Company.
Since 1987, the school has remained in urgent need of infrastructure improvement and basic facilities.
The act was done by the MyHelp-YourHelp Foundation to commemorate its fifth year of existence in the nation.

The school's six-unit classroom block was refurbished by a Christian humanitarian group, which also painted the entire building, installed new classroom doors, and plastered the walls.
The MyHelp-YourHelp Foundation further delivered whiteboards, markers, a water storage tank, and appropriately defined class 4 and 5 areas.
The Asafo AEDA "B" Basic School students, who were delighted by the gesture, welcomed and amused Myhelp-Yourhelp Foundation members with cultural performances, cadet corps drills, poetry recitals, dance, and a musical interlude by the school choir.
The Foundation's founder and CEO, Mr. Nicholas Cofie, stated at the presentation ceremony that the organization's mission is to convey love, hope, and smiles, especially to underprivileged regions.
According to him, the foundation was established on the principles of love, empathy, and hope, all of which were motivated by the written word of God.
Since the foundation's founding, he claimed, many lives and communities all around the nation have been affected, and more communities are still to be addressed.
According to Mr. Cofie, the group's ability to carry out all of its initiatives was due to the generosity of its members, who are all committed to helping the nation's most disadvantaged citizens and communities.
He asserted that the Foundation's members had never abandoned the organization's attempts to gather money for projects, praising them and asking God to grant the requests of all members who had made contributions in one way or another to the Foundation's mission.
