Arsenal news: The Gunners are still in the race for the Premier League crown, but they have a huge uphill battle to defeat Manchester City.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, a standout for Liverpool, has made it very plain what he thinks of Arsenal and Manchester City's race for the Premier League championship. With only a few weeks left in the season, there is only one point separating the two teams. Despite the fact that the race is still open, Alexander-Arnold has picked City to win, sending a strong message to Arsenal.

The right back for Liverpool, with his well-placed cross against the Gunners being headed in by Roberto Firmino, was one of the designers of Arsenal's collapse during the run-in. Liverpool's late equalizer against the Gunners led to two additional draws after that, followed by a 4-1 thrashing at the hands of City.

Some hope was revived with a convincing victory against Chelsea in the London derby, but City have since defeated Fulham and West Ham to make it nine games in a row. Alexander-Arnold is well aware of how good Pep Guardiola's team is during the late season run-in after Jurgen Klopp's team frequently pushed City to the limit in the race for the Premier League title.

In a recent interview, the 24-year-old detailed why City are now a lock to win another league championship and sent a direct warning to Arsenal about what to anticipate from the defending champions should they find themselves in a similar circumstance in the future.

I've been saying that for a while, and the league is now evident," he told Red Bull, according to the Liverpool Echo. "It's really game over if City are even remotely nearby, if they smell blood at Christmas or New Year. Once they start winning, there's no stopping them, and at this point, I'd be astonished if they drew a game.

They don't even trail in games anymore, so I believe it must be an attitude. There is no playing around, no fear, and no ups and downs. Arsenal was intriguing because they were losing games, but doing so in a fascinating way. City, on the other hand, is likeI don't even know how to put itjuggernauts.

This weekend will see the beginning of a new chapter in the title race, one that may be significant. On Saturday, City will host Leeds at Etihad Stadium, where adjustments can be made in preparation for the next Champions League match against Real Madrid.

On Sunday, Arsenal play Newcastle at St. James Park, the same place where a loss against Newcastle last season ended their ambitions of qualifying for the Champions League. Another loss on Sunday might ruin their hopes of winning the title.
