As part of attempts to alleviate the nation's unemployment problem, Hubtel, an e-commerce platform, will not give up on its efforts to develop new goods and services, according to Alex Bram, the company's chief executive officer.
Despite the firm's tremendous growth in employment, from 60 people at the time of the rebranding in 2017 to a strong team of over 270 employees spread across eight locations in the country, he highlighted that the company was not happy with the figures.
Speaking to reporters in Accra before the company's 18th milestone celebration, Mr. Bram said every department had expanded by more than 100% during the previous six years.
Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director General of the World Trade Organization, advised Ghana to increase investment in the booming fintech sector during a recent visit to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in order to capitalize on the $4 trillion in worldwide online trade.
She said that the nation was doing well by offering certain professional services and digital commerce to corporations that were outsourcing, with many women working in the industry. She encouraged greater efforts to be made to make significant gains in the area.
Mr. Bram said that his business got a full license to operate as an Enhanced Payment Services Provider in 2022 to take advantage of this expanding market, and by the end of that year, it had become, according to transaction volume and income, the biggest fintech firm in the nation.
He credited Hubtel's workforce, which he said was the company's backbone and continued to work tirelessly to achieve goals and objectives, for the company's amazing development.
App
Before the Hubtel App was released in 2012, according to Mr. Bram, the business introduced MPower Money, a full end-to-end online and mobile payment transactions solution that allowed customers and businesses to transfer, spend, and receive money.
He said, "MPower also launched the MPower Mobile Point of Sale application, enabling companies to take a variety of cashless payments.
It did not, however, have the expected level of success.
When Hubtel originally released the Hubtel app in 2017, it had similar difficulties.
The objective was to improve and simplify the commercial experience by connecting customers and businesses through the app.
