Services for criminal background checks have been distributed nationwide by the Police Administration.
Persons requesting criminal clearance reports may do so in any of the 25 police areas around the nation as of Monday, May 22, 2023.
The action is a component of the transformative plan of the Ghana Police Service to enhance the provision of policing services.
Since all criminal background checks were previously only done at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters in Accra, it was extremely difficult for people and groups who needed a police clearance to go to Accra.
According to a police statement, there are now 25 police zones in Ghana where the Ghana Police Service may be evaluated.

a second stage
The automation of the application process, which would enable people to submit applications online, would be the second step in the decentralization process.
"The online application portal will provide a user-friendly interface for individuals to submit their applications, upload required documents, and make necessary payments, if applicable," the statement continued.
The computerized method, according to the police, would speed up the issue of criminal background check results, decrease paperwork, and expedite the application process.
