With two games left, Dyche's Everton team is one spot and one point above the danger zone.
Sean Dyche, the manager of Everton, maintains that up to the final day of the season, finishing outside the bottom three in the relegation race has no bearing on him.
Even after a 3-0 loss to Manchester City the previous weekend, the team's results against rivals guaranteed they did not fall into the relegation zone.
Dyche's team will have the opportunity to increase the pressure on Leeds and Leicester, who are in 18th and 19th place and have games on Sunday and Monday, respectively, thanks to a Saturday 3pm kickoff at Wolves.
The Toffees would only need their third away victory of the year to put them five points ahead and keep control of their own fate.
Furthermore, Leeds would need at least four points to survive, while the Foxes would need to win their remaining two games.
Even at this late stage, Dyche is not motivated to do the math.
I don't fixate on the league, I say. I concentrate over the tactics, I gaze at the performances, I stare at the group, I stare at the preparation, I stare at the plan, and all of these things together.
"At this point, it's not about the standings. I've been saying for weeks that the final game of the season is the most significant.
"Of course, we all discuss it and consider it throughout a season, of course we do. However, the discussion at the conclusion of the season is the most significant, and that is the one on which we strive to be above the line.
"I believe that in order to keep our group's attention on the game, we just maintained a really level-headed attitude.
"That's all we try to do; others are free to do as they please."
Sean Dyche: The final standings table is the only one that counts.
