The First Lady of the Living Streams International Church, Rev. Dr. Davina Markwei, has entertained 200 widows and single moms as part of her 60th birthday celebration and has given them money and other goods.
The Mother's Day celebration included an event honoring moms at the church's facilities at Tse-Addo, La, Accra.
The recipients received hampers, shoe racks, and food supplies.
She also gave them GH 10,000 to divide, making a total contribution of GH 100,000.
Rationale
Honouring these moms offers me the chance to appreciate the important role they play in society and the complete renewed equipped women (CREW), according to Mrs. Markwei, who was named the 2019 Mirror Model Mother.
They struggle to care for children with little or no assistance.
"I thus think it is crucial to use the ministry of kindness to have an influence on moms' lives.
Please take advantage of the church's strong social support network for the neighborhoods we serve, she said. "The church is family-oriented.
In addition, Mrs. Markwei urged them to seek out the church's assistance if they needed mental, emotional, or spiritual help.
She also emphasized the need to practice excellent personal cleanliness and provided some health advice about the female reproductive system.
On this occasion, a few of the recipients spoke about their experiences.
Rebecca Sackey, a single mother, claimed that Rev. Dr. Davina Markwei's remarks had inspired her to remain resilient and meditative.
She remarked, "I thank God for the kind nature of our Rev. and mother, and I ask that God grant her a long life.
"The testimonials of other widows like myself gave me hope that I'm not fighting this battle alone. Another recipient, Rachel Achamah, stated, "My physical, spiritual, and mental needs were met, and I thank God and Rev. Davina Markwei for that.
Esther Kogyerang, for her part, expressed gratitude for the smoothly run ceremony and vowed to feed her family with the money and food she was given.
