Mo Salah of Liverpool only needs to make one change to his style of play in order to pass Erling Haaland next season in terms of goals scored.

When Arsenal lost to Nottingham Forest last Saturday, Manchester City were officially crowned champions for the third time in a row and the fifth time in six seasons.

If Pep Guardiola's team defeats Manchester United in the FA Cup final and Inter in the Champions League final in June, they will have a chance to make history.

Haaland's skill at scoring has helped the team reach new heights this season. The Norwegian has scored an astounding 52 goals across all leagues, including a Premier League record 36.

The most dependable goal scorers in the Premier League have been left in the wake of the Norway international. Harry Kane's 28 goals this season have received little attention, while Mohamed Salah is largely seen to have had a lacklustre season despite scoring 19 goals and dishing out 11 assists in the Premier League.

However, if the Liverpool attacker changes his approach, he might surpass Haaland's statistics the following year.

Haaland vs. Salah

Salah, including Haaland, has scored more goals this season against teams from the top half of the league.

In fact, 13 of the Egyptian's 19 Premier League goals have come against teams in the top half of the league, including three goals against Manchester United and three goals against Tottenham, respectively.

Kane is the only other player to have as many goals against teams in the top half of the league, and Ivan Toney of Brentford has scored 12 of his 20 goals against the top 10 teams in the league.

Haaland has scored 11 goals against teams in the top half of the table, including three goals against Manchester United and two goals against championship challenger Arsenal.

Haaland has scored about 24 goals against teams in the bottom half, including four each against Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers and three each against West Ham and Nottingham Forest.

Salah did not score against teams like Palace, Bournemouth, or bottom-place Southampton. The 30-year-old might attract numbers that are comparable to Haaland's if he improves his record against opponents in the lower half of the standings.
