Adisadel College, one of the oldest senior high schools in Africa, also known as ADISCO's 99-year group, has created a GoFundMe page to seek money for a Solar Revolution project.
Every year group at Adisadel College is required to hold the annual Speech Day and start a legacy project after twenty-five (25) years of completion, according to a cherished tradition.
This custom may have its roots in their motivational school ode, which is frequently chanted. We participate in the glory of others' labours since we have worked hard ourselves.
The 114th Speech Day will be held at the Cape Coast-based Anglican Boys School on March 9, 2024, with particular recognition going to the 999 year group and Santa 99.
Santa 99 is a graduating class that represents the conclusion of a period from the college's founding in 1910 to the year 1999. It comes as no surprise that they are often referred to as the "lastborns" of the 1990s.
The 1999-year-old group, known as the Adisadel College Green Revolution, will supply sustainable and clean energy as a legacy project to mark this significant occasion and as a big gesture of giving back to their alma mater. a legacy effort to use clean, renewable solar energy to power future generations.
Solar energy systems will be installed for the college's academic facilities, administration building, dining hall, teachers' and students' housing, the Centenary Building as part of the project, which is projected to cost GHS2.5 million, and the Reading Complex for the Class of 1998. This will usher in a green solar energy revolution at Adisadel College that also supports Goal 7 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.
The main, obvious objective of this project is to offer a sustainable, affordable, and alternative source of energy with the intention of offering a dependable energy alternative that would assure minimal disruptions to learning and important academic work for students and staff.
The project's primary benefit would be to provide current students real-world experience and a chance to discover creative solutions to energy-related problems in the actual world. In the end, it would also show children how they may influence the environment around them.
The graduating class of 1999, Santa 99, has started a GoFundMe page to raise money for the Adisadel College Green Solar Revolution in order to support ongoing initiatives. They invite everyone to participate in the fund-raising effort in order to help the present and following generations.
