The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has opened nominations for its presidential candidate for the 2024 general election.
In a statement, the party saidthat presidential aspirants will be able to collect nomination forms from Friday, May 26, 2023. Applications will be open for almost a month and close on Saturday June 24, 2023.
Meanwhile, aspirants are advised to collect nomination forms at the party headquarters in Asylum Down, Accra, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday. NPP presidential election process

Saturday, August 26, 2023 - College Special Election (if applicable)
Saturday, November 4, 2023 – National Assembly
Before selecting the categories, applicants must pay a non-refundable selection fee of GH?50,000.
"The party is determined to hold a free, fair, transparent and peaceful presidential election, and calls on all stakeholders to help make this a reality." The group said that after their nominations are closed, the national conference will be held on November 4, 2023, as theyagreed on the meeting of its National Executive Committee (NEC) and the National Council.

Already, some members of the NPP have announced their intention to join the race for the flag. Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen resigned as tradeand industry minister earlier this year to launch a nationalcampaign ahead of the race.
The former Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto expressed his interest in this race and also ran for office. The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has also expressed his interest.
Also, Mr. Kwabena Agyapong, Mr. Kennedy Agyapong, Mr. Joe Ghartey and Mr. Boakye Agyarko have declared their intention to run for the NPP.
The former Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto expressed his interest in this race and also ran for office. The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has also expressed his interest.
Also, Mr. Kwabena Agyapong, Mr. Kennedy Agyapong, Mr. Joe Ghartey and Mr. Boakye Agyarko have declared their intention to run for the NPP.
