In his first season in the Premier League, Erling Haaland's favorite goal was an overhead kick he made against Southampton.
Haaland has dominated England since moving to Manchester City in the summer. His last goal against West Ham, his 35th of the season, surpassed the 38-game season scoring record. He later tacked on a 36th just for good measure.
Despite the fact that there are many worthy candidates, Haaland chose his spectacular goal against Southampton as his greatest.
He told the Premier League, "The Southampton goal is so wonderful, hanging there in the air for a bit. "I must accept that."
It was a really beautiful goal, he continued. [Jack Grealish] hit the ideal ball. A very special objective. Little has to be said because the objective speaks for itself.
The FWA Footballer of the Year continued by acknowledging that while he was unconcerned about moving to the Premier League, even he did not think such a quick effect was likely.
It's a special time, I feel good about it, he remarked. "I anticipated to do wonderful things, but I didn't anticipate doing this.
To be honest, it really just comes down to playing each game as it comes and concentrating on what we can. I dislike dwelling on the past or the future. I prefer to live in the present and take each game as it comes; we followed [Pep Guardiola's] instructions to the letter.
"We were focused, and we succeeded in achieving our goals. At the end of the day, it's unbelievable what we accomplished after falling behind the entire season. It was incredible and felt incredible.
Lampard remarked that "[Haaland] is an amazing player and the ultimate top level players generally can do what he does in a top level league" in December 2022, prior to Everton's 1-1 draw against Manchester City.
In a preseason game while he was playing for Salzburg, I coached against him. He refused to sign with Chelsea, despite my best efforts.
