It was important to acknowledge the organisers' efforts in highlighting the contributions made by businesses and corporate sectors to the national economy, said Hon. Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo, a Member of Parliament for the Achiase constituency and the event's guest speaker.
He emphasised that the government saw it as essential to shift the economy from one that was reliant on the production and sale of basic commodities to one that was industrialised and added value.
He cited this as the reason why the government is starting an ambitious industrial transformation strategy with involvement from the business sector.
"The Government of Ghana has proposed programmes like the One District, One Factory project, which aims to generate wealth and jobs.
"The various initiatives by the government are expected to unleash the energies of businesspeople and stimulate the entrepreneurial potential of Ghana," he stated.
