The Brave Sanitary Pad Fund-School Adoption Programme, according to the team, is a special initiative that assists in identifying girls and young women between the ages of 13 and 24 who are in great need while also providing instruction on menstrual hygiene and sexual and reproductive health. "Over the course of one year, our 505 beneficiaries, who were selected after a careful needs analysis, will receive a total of 60,600 disposable sanitary pad units."
As part of our School Adoption Programme, which is a component of our assistance for the 505 girls in certain locations, Brave observed the day with participants from the Apedwa SDA Primary School in partnership with Medley Choir Ghana.
100 girls from North-Eastern Christian Academy in Yendi, Northern Region, and Our Lady of Apostles College of Education in Cape Coast are among the recipients.
100 girls from Kyabobo Girls SHS, Nkwanta, Oti area; 150 girls spread among three clusters of schools in Ahafo region; 55 girls from Apedwa SDA Primary School, Eastern region.
Planera UK, the manufacturer of Fluus flushable sanitary pads, is the primary partner and sponsor for the bulk of the free distribution of disposable sanitary pads. The flushable pads made by Fluus are special because they are both user- and environmentally-friendly, raising the bar for menstrual hygiene products all around the world. Through our ground-breaking business strategy of retailing for revenue generation and impact, we will supplement the remaining sanitary pad units.
Transmed Ghana Ltd., the exclusive distributor of Always Sanitary Pads in Ghana, is a partner in the programme and will distribute Always pads at a discounted wholesale price to help the Support Fund's income creation.
The project is requesting help from the general public in the form of direct donations, purchases of sanitary products for individual use, and/or sanitary product care packages that will be given to girls participating in our school adoption programme. Donations can be sent to the Project Brave Foundation at the Tema Community 11 branch of the First National Bank, account number 62001179060.
