The 69th Speech and Prize-giving Day was observed in Ho by the Our Lady of Apostles (OLA) Girls' Senior High School (SHS) year groups of 1997 and 1998, under the direction of the Past OLA Girls' Association (POGA).
"Preparing today's girl for the future of work and entrepreneurship" was the topic of the annual event, which is presented by different graduates.
In a statement, the board chair of OLA Girls, Mr. Kofi Torku, praised the administration and students for attaining such tremendous success in spite of persisting difficulties and praised the former students' efforts to plan the celebration. They were from the 1997 and 1998 year groups.
He also thanked the 1997 and 1998 year groups for generously supporting this event. "Despite the numerous challenges facing the school, I am proud to state that the school continues to progress very well as a category "A" school," he stated.
Gifty Mottey-Gowu, the president of the 1998 year group, expressed gratitude and joy to the administration of the school for once again enabling them to support the institution.
"It is an honour to speak on behalf of my classmates today, which is the 25th anniversary of the conclusion of the 1997–1998 year groups at OLA Senior High School.
It's difficult to realise that 25 years have passed since we received our diplomas from this esteemed college, she continued.
This occurred when donations from the alumni association were provided to the Ho Teaching Hospital's Paediatric Unit, the Ho Madanfo Shelter, and the school's administration in the form of food, toys, and instructional supplies.
Ghana Oil Palm Development Company (GOPDC), Twellium Industries (Verna & Bigoo), and GB Foods also contributed to the school and paediatric unit contributions.
In order to facilitate efficient teaching and learning, the 97 and 98 year groups have dedicated a 16-seat lavatory facility and an e-library with 10 PCs and one server.
