Manchester City won the Manchester Derby FA Cup final for the first time ever, winning 2-1 in normal time, with a brace from Ilkay Gundogan.

During the post-match celebration, it appeared that Julian Alvarez was too shy to accept the trophy and lift it himself in front of the fans.

Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson had to pull Alvarez up to lift the trophy, but he was still too shy to hold it in front of the away fans.

The young forward has enjoyed a fantastic first season, scoring three goals and two assists in five FA Cup games, while also scoring 17 goals in all competitions.

The 23-year-old also won the World Cup with Argentina in Qatar and is on track for a treble with Cityzens. Therefore, there is no doubt that the young striker has contributed significantly to Manchester City's success and deserves attention.

Despite the incredible season that Man City No 9 Erling Haaland has had and the recognition he is receiving, Alvarez's mental contribution to the team cannot be ignored.

Alvarez has finally plucked up the courage to lift the world's oldest football trophy for his fans and celebrate Man City's domestic double as it should.

Alvarez and Manchester City have now completed two of the three stages of the treble, between them only a Champions League final against Inter Milan and true legend status. Manchester United were the only team to win the English treble, in the 1998/99 season, limited by two stoppage-time goals in the Champions League final.

While it is acknowledged that City's potential treble may not be too dramatic or unpredictable, there is no doubt that Pep Guardiola and his Manchester side have dominated English and European football. Europe this season.

Beat Inter Milan next weekend and they could become the most dominant English team in history.
