Tottenham star Harry Kane is a Real Madrid transfer target as Karim Benzema prepares to leave the club.

Tottenham director Daniel Levy will want £200m to part with Harry Kane this summer, according to reports. Manchester United's interest in the England international has been well-documented as the transfer window approaches. But Real Madrid are also currently eyeing a deal for the striker, with Karim Benzema set to leave the club.

Kane is a Real Madrid target, who for the first time since 2019, has the ability to spend big. Los Blancos have confirmed that Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio will leave the Bernabeu, while Benzema's departure was announced earlier on Sunday.

Real want Kylian Mbappe but they are also keeping an eye on Kane, because they believe the two players can play together in the future.

And The Independent reports Tottenham chief Levy wants £200m for his talisman, even though the striker is entering the final year of his contract.

This will likely put Kane out of reach of Real, despite the money they save when Benzema, Asensio and Hazard are all gone.

And it could also make the 29-year-old too expensive for Manchester United.

Erik ten Hag is eager to bring in a new No. 9 amid Anthony Martial not being good enough and prolific this season.

The Red Devils are also expected to allow Wout Weghorst to return to Burnley, with the Netherlands international having scored just two goals since joining in January.

Real has a good relationship with Tottenham, the two clubs have previously negotiated the transfer of Gareth Bale and Luka Modric.

And what ultimately happens remains to be seen. Transfer information Tottenham Harry Kane Daniel Levy Real Madrid

Reports say Real have been told the salary Kane would want if he were to switch from North London to the sunny coast of Spain.

But the player's preference seems to be to stay in the Premier League, as the striker is approaching Alan Shearer's all-time goalscoring record in this competition.

Kane appeared shy when asked about his future last weekend, saying:

"No no. It's part of being a footballer, especially when you're at the top of your game.

"I'm focused on this season and trying to help the team as much as I can. "To score a couple of goals [against Leeds] today was good, that's it, but overall I just look forward to a good rest and then a few games for England."

Meanwhile, Benzema is said to be leaving Real for Saudi Arabia.

And the club confirmed his departure in a statement earlier on Sunday that read:

"Real Madrid CF and our captain Karim Benzema have agreed to end his brilliant and unforgettable period as a player for our club.

"Real Madrid would like to express their gratitude and all their love for the man who has been one of our greatest legends."

The statement added:

“Karim Benzema's career at Real Madrid is an example of manners and professionalism, and represents the values ??of our club.
