Columnist Stan Collymore says the Man City boss has always worked with the biggest budgets and greatest resources, and that means he won't be on the same level as other consecutive winners.

Pep Guardiola holds the Premier League trophy

Pep Guardiola has sealed another Premier League title

“Pep Guardiola is among the top 20 coaches in history, but I cannot rate him as the best because of his record in the Champions League.

“His three clubs are the richest or second richest in their country and have almost endless resources. But he still hasn't won it in 12 years.

"That's the biggest factor in deciding where to rank him and when it comes to deciding the best, he's not even in the conversation right now.

"Brian Clough has won the European Cup twice in as many years after taking Forest to second place two seasons ago. Bob Paisley and Sir Alex Ferguson have succeeded at organically built clubs.

Johan Cruyff changed the game without financial backing. There are even strong arguments to rank Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti higher at the start of this period.

“But at Barcelona, ???Bayern Munich and Manchester City, Guardiola had it all within reach. Stylistically, his teams may have pushed the ceiling where you can play higher, but he's still failed for more than a decade in the most important competition. “The Premier League, La Liga and Bundesliga are currently so skewed that only one or two clubs with a certain depth of resources can win. And that undermines his status.

"Inter are very good tactically and it's worth it. They have excellent and experienced players who can harm teams. However, they were on the right side of the draw and if they did they would. come out and try to be open, they will lead 3-0, 4-0 and become a footnote in history.

“But if they are healthy, adopt a traditional English approach, use set pieces well and counter-attack well – they have a very slim chance. When you have Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku you can deal damage and both will find a way to make a statement.

“The final does interesting things for everyone. In both teams there will be players who thrive in the situation and four or five who let nerves take over and don't play well.

"Inter can win. Will they? I doubt. I will go to Man City to score more goals and bring Abu Dhabi the trophy they have been craving since joining the club in 2008. But that will not be enough to put Guardiola on the list of coaches. The greatest coach in my football."
