The team defeated Manchester United 2-1 at Wembley to secure the domestic hat trick.

After their most recent FA Cup victory, Pep Guardiola pushed his Manchester City players to follow up by winning the Champions League.

City defeated Manchester United 2-1 at Wembley on Saturday to win the domestic double for the second time under Guardiola.

Ilkay Gundogan scored both goals for City, which outclassed their neighbors with a sensational shot that came off the post after just 12 seconds—the fastest goal in FA Cup final history.

The Champions League has escaped them despite their recent success, which also includes five Premier League championships and four Carabao Cups.

When they play Inter Milan in the final in Istanbul the following week, they will have the opportunity to make that right and win a wonderful treble.

Guardiola, the city manager, said: "Everyone is aware of it. Although we have had tremendous seasons, winning five Premier Leagues, two FA Cups, and Carabao Cups, we still need to win the Champions League to receive the recognition the club so well deserves.

"We have to acknowledge that without the Champions League, everything has been fantastic and enjoyable, but there is something missing. We must carry it out.

"We need one more win. The fact that we have had two Champions League finals and one semifinal in three years is extraordinary, in my opinion.

"But ultimately, we must prevail. I am aware of the process. You have to put pressure on yourself, I told the guys. You need to succeed in Europe to be recognized as something worthwhile.

City can take stock of yet another outstanding trophy-winning performance before turning their entire attention to Inter.

Not everything went according to plan. After Gundogan scored quickly, United tied the game with a Bruno Fernandes penalty after a VAR review that erroneously determined Jack Grealish handled the ball.

However, they struck back early in the second half when Gundogan volleyed in his second after Kevin De Bruyne had picked him out on the edge of the area from a free kick.
