Daniel Levy sets an absolutely ludicrous price tag for Manchester United target Harry Kane
Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has offered a completely ridiculous price for Harry Kane amid interest from Manchester United.
Harry Kane is one of the best strikers in world football. He has been one of Erik ten Hag's top targets this summer and could follow in the footsteps of some of United's greatest strikers if the deal goes through.
However, with such talent, it won't come cheap. The striker was originally thought to be worth around £100m. Now, a shocking assessment by Daniel Levy has been reported more than initially thought.
The Independent say the Tottenham chief wants £200m for his talisman, even though the striker is entering the final year of his contract.
Kane is a top striker - but that is certainly too much even for a player of his caliber.
The England captain is 29 years old this year which means he is at the peak of his form but is slowly entering this stage of his career where he will soon fall. Plus, he also has a year on his contract, which means that if Spurs keep him, he could leave with absolutely nothing to lose.
Levy is known for playing tough on player deals. Kane has single-handedly carried the North London team this season so maybe in his head it's really fair. From an outsider's perspective, that's certainly not the case.
Amid interest from United, it was also recently reported that Real Madrid has entered the amulet race. Madrid are known to be ruthless in the market, spending whatever it takes to get their man.
However, we think £200m is still too much for them. It will be interesting to see which club Kane starts with next season.
