Zlatan Ibrahimovic announced his immediate retirement from football when his contract with AC Milan expired.



Prior to his final match for the club, fans at the San Siro bid the Swedish striker farewell. Although he had claimed he would not retire, it now appears that the 41-year-old has changed his mind and decided to give up the beautiful game.


The legendary football player had been connected with a move to fellow Serie A team Monza in earlier rumors, but after leaving AC Milan, Ibrahimovic has opted to give up playing altogether.


When he scored against Udinese in March, the Sweden international set a record for the oldest goal scorer in Serie A.
