One of the most recognised and respectable university rankings is The Times Higher Education (THE) Rankings, which is issued by the Times Higher Education, a reputable British education publication.
The Impact Rankings are the only international performance tables that rank universities using the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.
The company claimed in a statement that it uses painstakingly calibrated metrics to give thorough and unbiased comparisons across four important areas: research, stewardship, outreach, and education.
The body went on to say that SDG 4, which is about excellent education, "measures universities' contribution to early years and lifelong learning, as well as their pedagogy research and commitment to inclusive education."
In its fifth iteration, the 2023 Impact Rankings included 1,591 colleges from 112 different nations.

In response to the most recent rankings, KNUST authorities described the feat as a remarkable accomplishment that was the result of years of significant and well-planned investments made by the university's administration.
Dr. Daniel Norris Bekoe, the university's relations officer, lauded both previous and current administrations for their outstanding investments in infrastructure, ICT, and e-learning tools, which have greatly improved KNUST students' educational experiences.
Dr. Bekoe also emphasised the impressive measures taken by the university's administration to help young scholars financially, encourage the pursuit of important research projects, and facilitate the publication of their findings in journals with a high impact.
That, according to him, was acknowledged as a crucial element with far-reaching effects on the institution.
The Vice-Chancellor's Support One Needy Student with One Laptop (SONSOL) programme, which was launched by Professor Rita Akosua Dickson to bridge the financial gap between academically bright and financially underprivileged students, and other efforts were also highlighted by the University Relations Officer.
digital gap, as well as the provision of complete scholarships that include transportation, clothes, food, and special accommodations for those with impairments.
a dedication to inclusivity
These successes, according to Dr. Bekoe, demonstrated KNUST's dedication to inclusivity and making sure no student fell behind.
To protect the most vulnerable members of the university community, he also praised management for implementing policies like gender, anti-sexual harassment, and disability policies. He explained that these policies had produced a safe academic environment that promoted better teaching and learning for all students and staff.
The university relations officer reaffirmed the management's unwavering commitment to making continuous strategic choices and financial investments targeted at raising educational standards.
This unwavering commitment is motivated by the overriding objective of developing students who have excellent character attributes in addition to a deep mastery of their topics.
By adamantly upholding this ideal, KNUST hopes to provide its students with the information and skills they need to succeed not just in Ghana but also on a worldwide scale.
Dr. Bekoe expressed the administration of the university's sincere gratitude to the hardworking employees, students, valued partners, and distinguished stakeholders for their significant efforts that helped to achieve this remarkable milestone.
This noteworthy accomplishment, according to the university relations officer, is evidence of the community at KNUST's broad joint efforts and unshakable devotion.
