Vinicius Jr. has revealed the club he would leave Real Madrid for, and it may surprise you.
Vini Jr., 24, is the frontrunner to win the Ballon d'Or, which will be presented on Monday, October 28, 2024, at the Théâtre du Chatelet in Paris.
The Brazilian improved his chances of winning the prized accolade with a second-half hat-trick in Real Madrid's 5-2 Champions League victory against Borussia Dortmund on October 22.
The winger has always shown promise, but his performance has been more consistent in recent years.
Last season, he played an important role in Real Madrid's double-winning triumph, scoring in the Champions League final in a 2-0 win against Dortmund, bringing his season total to 24 goals in 39 matches.
His outstanding form has continued this season, with eight goals and seven assists in 14 games.
Given his age, assuming he can avoid injuries, Vini Jr. is likely to stay at Madrid for his prime years.
However, he made a stunning comment, suggesting that he would leave Los Blancos if a certain team approached him.
"I believe I could stay here my entire career, but the club of my dreams is Flamengo," he said L'Équipe in 2023.
I'm enjoying life here in general, and my family is doing well. When my loved ones go by, they are recognized and wish us only happiness.
"Bit by bit, I discovered this new existence, new feelings, a zeal... Madrid is special. Everyone in the world tells me about this club.
"And, other than that, I enjoy it. I am a homebody, yet we participate in a variety of activities.
Before going to Madrid in 2018, Vini Jr. played 69 games for Flamengo's senior team after progressing through the ranks.
With a great performance against Barcelona in Saturday's "El Clasico," the Brazilian might solidify his position in Real Madrid history. He has already won every club award he is eligible for, but he has yet to achieve success on the international stage.
