Rasmus Hojlund has revealed his love for Manchester United as speculation about his club's future continues.

The Atalanta forward ended the Serie A season impressively on Sunday night, scoring in a 5-2 home win over Monza.

The win secures a fifth place for his team and a place in the Europa League next season.

Hojlund ended the season scoring 16 goals and providing seven assists in all competitions - impressive form for a 20-year-old newcomer.

Several top European clubs, including Manchester United, are said to be interested in signing Hojlund this summer. United are looking for a new striker after letting Cristiano Ronaldo leave the club in November.

But it is believed Spurs chairman Daniel Levy could refuse to sell to a direct Premier League rival, even as Kane enters the final 12 months of his contract in north London.

As a result, United have drawn up a list of alternate targets, including Hojlund and Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani.

And the striker himself has said he is open to joining United if they try to sign him.

Hojlund:

I'm a Man Utd fan

Speaking earlier this season, Hojlund revealed he supports the Red Devils. "Now you ask, I'm not going to hide the fact that I'm a huge Manchester United fan," he said.

"So for me personally that will be one of the most important things for me, but of course that doesn't mean I will turn down other big clubs if there are offers at some point. some point."

The Danish forward has been compared to the 'new Erling Haaland' for physique and speed, while he has also been compared to fellow Scandinavian Zlatan Ibrahimovic - who announced his retirement from football on Sunday at the age of 41.

But United could be ruled out of a move to sign Hojlund this summer, with 90min claiming Atalanta will demand a fee of between €65-70m (£56-60m) to sell the Danish forward.

With an initial transfer budget of £100m (according to The Athletic) and several positions in need of reinforcement, United may have to look elsewhere - unless they can raise more money through player sales.
