The striker's accuracy and technique cannot be denied, but a lack of luck has deprived him of the joy of scoring more often. Manchester United mantra, Bruno Fernandes is known for his long-range shots and ability to create scoring opportunities. However, the Portuguese midfielder was unlucky when five of his 92 shots all season hit the woodwork.
Erling Braut Haaland also suffered the crossbar curse. Haaland, who has enjoyed a stellar season with City, has seen five of his shots on target out of an impressive 123 shots on target. The young striker's power, precision and deadly finishes often leave defenses helpless, but he has to accept the sound of the ball hitting the crossbar instead of the crowd cheering.

Arsenal could now face Manchester City to sign Raphael Guerreiro from Borussia Dortmund.
That is according to The Sun, who suggest that Pep Guardiola is considering launching a move for Guerreiro.
The Portugal international is out of contract this summer and has decided to leave Dortmund on a free transfer.
Bayern Munich are hoping to get Guerreiro's signature, although swapping Dortmund for Bayern would be a bit controversial. Guerreiro is also said to be on Arsenal's radar.
Dean Jones reported just days ago that Arsenal were considering Guerreiro ahead of a potential move.
We just saw Manchester City beat Arsenal to the Premier League title and Guardiola may not hope to repeat the trick by beating the Gunners to Guerreiro.
Raphael Guerreiro makes perfect sense for Manchester City
Guerreiro's versatility will be very attractive to Man City.
The 29-year-old can play at left-back or in midfield, with his dribbling quality being appreciated in both roles. That is particularly appealing to Arsenal and City based on how they use their backs.
Both Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta prefer to use full-backs to help build the game.
Oleksandr Zinchenko - a midfielder turned left-back - has played that role under Guardiola and Arteta.
Guerreiro fits a similar mold. He can start at left-back and move into midfield while being completely comfortable in that area of the pitch. That's what City are looking for this summer and Sky Sports even claimed that last August Guerreiro was on the Etihad team's wish list.
Man City can now haggle, reuniting Guerreiro with former Dortmund teammates Erling Haaland and Manuel Akanji.
