Free transfers are becoming increasingly popular in football as many players choose to terminate their contracts before choosing their next move.
We have created an excellent Xl of players who will soon become free agents, set up in a 4-3-3 formation.
Note:
Some of these players could still sign new contracts with their current clubs before becoming free agents in early July.
GK:
David de Gea
Despite winning the Premier League Golden Glove 2022/23, De Gea still faces an uncertain future at Manchester United.
The goalkeeper has made some serious mistakes and Erik ten Hag will be on the hunt for a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window. United have chosen not to trigger a one-year extension to De Gea's contract as they want a cut of his current £375,000-a-week salary.
While the Spain international is said to have agreed to sign a new deal with reduced terms, he has yet to be signed by the club's hierarchy.
RB:
Joel Veltman
Veltman was key to Brighton's success in the 2022/23 season, helping the club qualify for European football for the first time in its history.
According to The Athletic, Brighton are currently in talks with the Dutch defender and his agents over a new contract.
But his impressive performances are said to have attracted interest from Roma and Barcelona, ??and he refuses to rule out a move abroad. "I'm happy, but I'm also open to other options," he told Voetbal International. "I'm having a good time in England, but Italy or Spain is fine."
Milan Skriniar
Since joining Inter from Sampdoria in 2017, Skriniar has established himself as one of the best centre-backs in Europe.
But the 28-year-old was sacked from the Nerazzurri captaincy earlier this year after insisting he would not sign a contract extension.
He is believed to have signed a pre-contract with Paris Saint-Germain and his final appearance for Inter will be in the Champions League final against Manchester City.
B.C:
Sergio Ramos
Skriniar will replace Ramos, who won two Ligue 1 titles and the Trophée des Champions during his two-year spell at Paris Saint-Germain. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, several Saudi clubs have approached the 37-year-old midfielder.
He could reunite with a former Real Madrid team-mate as Cristiano Ronaldo plays for Al-Nassr and Karim Benzema prepares to join Al-Ittihad.
Raphael Guerreiro
Guerreiro had a brilliant 2022/23 season with Borussia Dortmund, scoring 12 assists from left-back to help them come close to winning the Bundesliga.
He recently turned down the club's offer of a new contract and has since been linked with Atletico Madrid, Manchester City and OGC Nice.
But the 29-year-old wants to stay in Germany and is open to joining Bayern Munich, where he will reunite with former Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel. CM:
N'Golo Kante
Kante has faced a series of injuries throughout the 2022/23 season and Chelsea have really struggled in his absence.
The 32-year-old midfielder admits he hopes to extend his stay in west London, but talks over a new deal appear to have stalled in recent weeks.
Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Barcelona are said to be looking to sign him on a free transfer, while there are also links to a possible move to Saudi Arabia.
Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kanté
CM:
Adrien Rabiot
After joining Juventus as a Bosman in 2019, Rabiot looks set to complete another free transfer this summer.
