Sergio Aguero's son, Benjamin, didn't hold back in offering a cutting remark to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) as they bid farewell to Lionel Messi on social media. Benjamin's comment on Instagram quickly went viral, garnering over 96,000 likes. He boldly claimed that the legendary Argentina captain was bigger than the French champions, igniting a conversation online.

It's well known that Messi and Benjamin's father, Sergio Aguero, share a long-standing friendship, often rooming together during the Albiceleste's away games. Aguero was also present during Argentina's joyous World Cup celebrations. Benjamin, being Messi's godson, defended his national icon on Instagram when PSG posted a series of images of Messi with the caption #MerciMessi, commemorating his departure from the club.

Benjamin's comment, "He was a lot for you," was a clear indication of his belief in Messi's greatness and his disappointment with PSG. Benjamin Aguero is no stranger to football lineage, as he is the grandson of the late Diego Maradona, widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time and Messi's predecessor as Argentina's idol. Having family ties to three of football's most prolific players places Benjamin in a unique and privileged position.

While Sergio Aguero was forced to retire from professional football due to heart complications in 2021, his close friend Messi continues to thrive in his career. Messi had an impressive season with PSG, contributing 21 goals and 20 assists. However, despite his individual success, some PSG fans expressed disappointment in his overall performance, evident in the whistles and jeers he faced after the team's Champions League round of 16 exit to Bayern Munich.

PSG manager Christophe Galtier confirmed that Messi would be leaving the club at the end of his current contract, marking the end of an uneasy relationship between the player and the French capital. Messi's future remains uncertain, with a potential return to Barcelona being discussed following talks between his father and agent, Jorge Messi, and the Catalan

However, Barcelona has yet to make a definitive offer, leaving room for other clubs like Inter Miami and Al-Hilal to potentially make a move for the 35-year-old superstar.

Adding to the drama surrounding Messi's time at PSG, his visit to Saudi Arabia during the season resulted in a two-week suspension. This caused disruption and further strained his relationship with the club. As the speculation about Messi's next destination continues, football fans around the world eagerly await the next chapter in the remarkable career of the Argentine maestro. ?
