Arsenal handed Sacha Boey transfer opportunity with Galatasaray planning bid for Gunners outcast

According to reports, Arsenal could use an outcast Gunner to help recruit Galatasaray right-back Sacha Boey this summer.

Boey has had an impressive campaign for the Turkish giants and is attracting the attention of several European clubs.

Mikel Arteta is keen to strengthen the defence after being forced to use Thomas Partey and Jakub Kiwior as temporary full-backs in the final two games of the season, following a number of defensive injuries.

Naturalized right-back Takehiro Tomiyasu is reportedly not expected to return from a knee injury until early next season, while Kieran Tierney looks increasingly likely to leave the Emirates in the face of interest from Newcastle and Aston Villa.

In turn, the Gunners boss is keen to add a right-back to his ranks, and Boey is said to have been identified as a target. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal have yet to officially negotiate with Galatasaray about signing the 22-year-old and have not met with Boey's agent.

However, Romano revealed he is a player admired by Arsenal as they prepare for a packed schedule in next season's Champions League.

And it looks like Arsenal may have found a loophole to help sign the young Frenchman, after reports emerged linking Nuno Tavares with a move to Galatasaray.

Arsenal offer transfer swap opportunity

Turkish journalist Re?at Can Özbudak claimed that Galatasaray had "met with representatives of Nuno Tavares".

It is known that the Turkish club will assess the situation and make an offer after the left-back finishes the European Under-21 final with Portugal in Romania.

As a result, Arteta could use Tavares as a bargaining chip to help sign Boey, with the potential for players to exchange more coins on the cards.

Romano has indicated that Arsenal will have to meet Galatasaray's €25m (£21.6m) bid to sign Boey.

While Tavares costs £7.5m, according to Portuguese outlet A Bola.
