Lionel Messi has 'two undisclosed offers' on the table that have yet to be revealed and reports in Spain suggest they could come from the Premier League. The 35-year-old veteran is now set to leave Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent at the end of the season after helping the French giants win a second consecutive Ligue 1 title.
While Messi's Paris adventure has served its purpose in the form of trophies - despite not winning the Champions League - he is now looking forward to embarking on a new adventure.
Barcelona are still in the bracket, but a deal is now highly unlikely due to the range of financial difficulties the club is still facing. Messi's landing is now seen as a complicated operation that requires some players to leave the club, something Xavi is not necessarily willing to facilitate.
Now Spain's Diario AS are reporting that Messi has two offers from 'top European clubs' on the table, which suggests he could still stay in the world's top five leagues .
However, the identities of these two clubs are yet to be revealed, but reports indicate that they could be from the Premier League.
Messi has long been interested in a move to English football but for a number of reasons that move has not materialized in recent times. He is now the subject of intense interest from Inter Miami and Saudi Arabia, where a contract offer is on the table that could represent a world record salary.
Both are still solid options, but Messi is said to still be in favor of a return to Barcelona if that is a path that can be explored.
Jorge Messi recently stated in a brief conversation with the Spanish press that a decision 'has yet to be made' as the World Cup winner continues to weigh in on his future.
"We still have to talk about a lot of things," he added before claiming that Messi would "prefer" to return to Barca.
Oddly enough, two of Messi's closest friends - Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets - are leaving Barcelona this summer and this can carry a lot of burdens. Barcelona are set to submit a two-year financial proposal to La Liga to demonstrate that they have planned to operate with a sufficient budget without violating the rules of the league's salary cap.
The document is expected to reveal whether Messi could return to the club this summer.
One of the key departures likely to materialize is that of Ansu Fati, who is being pursued by Wolves and other teams across Europe.
However, Fati could still stay at Barcelona as Ferran Torres continues to attract interest from elsewhere.
There have also been talks that Robert Lewandowski is also attracting interest from Saudi Arabia, where Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo will feature next season.
