After taking over at Tottenham, Ange Postecoglou will become the first Australian manager in the Premier League.

One of eight countries with just one manager, Australia will be the 25th to supply a permanent Premier League manager.

Press Association Sport examines the one-offs in this section.

Ange Postecoglou of Australia

2023: Tottenham -

Postecoglou, the final player signed by the Premier League, brings a substantially stronger résumé to Tottenham thanks to his accomplishments at Celtic. The former manager of the Melbourne Victory and Yokohama F Marinos was hired after winning a domestic treble in Scotland, bringing his total of major championships won to five in just two seasons.

Luiz Felipe Scolari, Brazil

2008–2009: Chelsea

'Big Phil' arrived in London after leading his nation Portugal to the Euro 2004 championship and winning a World Cup with them. However, he was only in charge for 25 league games and 36 overall before being fired after the Blues' fourth-place finish in the standings, 10 points behind the lead, following a loss to Liverpool and a goalless draw with Hull.

Pellegrini, Manuel

West Ham in 2018–2019; Manchester City from 2013–16

Pellegrini, who is unquestionably the most successful manager on this list, used his success at Spanish clubs Villarreal and Malaga to win the league and League Cup in his first season at City and added another League Cup before handing the reins over to Pep Guardiola, who had a wildly successful tenure.

Grant overcame opposition to his selection as Chelsea's manager and his lack of the necessary coaching credentials to guide Chelsea to runners-up places in the Premier League, Champions League, and League Cup. However, this was not enough to secure Grant a second season in command. He later experienced back-to-back relegations when playing for Portsmouth and West Ham, but he also led both teams to FA Cup finals and League Cup semifinals. After guiding Watford to promotion in 2015, Jokanovic never had the opportunity to lead the team in the top division since he left the club during the summer without reaching a new contract. After the Cottagers' play-off victory in 2018, he finally had his chance, although he only managed one win in 12 games with 31 goals allowed before being fired.
