Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, spoke on Jude Bellingham's status as one of the top young midfielders in the world at the World Cup with England.

One of them is Bellingham, the Italian said. But I'll stick with my excellent midfielders, especially the young ones, I think.

It served as a reminder that Real Madrid is a team with a lot of experience in that position, despite Bellingham being one of the most sought-after midfielders going into this summer's transfer market.

Numerous talented young midfielders are at the disposal of the Spanish powerhouses. The club signed six-year contracts with Aurelien Tchouameni, 23, Eduardo Camavinga, 20, and Federico Valverde, 24, last year. Tchouameni and Camavinga joined for a combined £68 million from Monaco and £35 million, respectively.

Add in Toni Kroos, 33, and Luka Modric, 37, who, despite having a combined age of 70, are still in good physical condition.

However, Bellingham's transfer to Real Madrid is imminent after the Spanish club agreed to a contract with Borussia Dortmund for an initial sum of £88.5 million.

The 19-year-old, who left his hometown club Birmingham in 2020 for Germany, had always fantasized about joining the LaLiga giants.

The English player's transfer to Spain would cost the Spanish team €103 million (£88.5 million), with an additional sum of about 30% of that fixed price being agreed upon, Dortmund has announced in a statement. The total value of the transaction might be up to £115 million (€133.9 million).

Why the Bellingham agreement is rational

Therefore, how does Bellingham fit in? Is his inclusion in the Real starting lineup even guaranteed?

Ancelotti said, earlier in the season, "People might think they don't have as much energy as the youngsters, but the way these three manage the games is unique, it's priceless, and you can't buy it in the entire international market. Kroos, Modric, and striker Karim Benzema, 35, continue to thrive at Real Madrid.

They possess something that only experience can provide. Yes, growing older offers you some things, but it also takes some things away.

In reality, it is unlikely that any of Real's midfielders will leave the team should Bellingham sign. Ceballos is a major supporter of Ancelotti's and he previously stated that he "thinks" the former Arsenal midfielder will sign a new deal with the team.
