Barcelona has asked Monaco right-back Vanderson to reject a move to Manchester United this summer and instead join them next year, according to Spanish tabloid Sport via Metro.

"Xavi wants to strengthen his back-line this summer by bringing in an orthodox right-back, having used central defender Jules Kounde out of position for the majority of this season," according to the Metro newspaper.

"According to the Spanish newspaper Sport, Vanderson has been identified as the ideal signing by Barcelona's recruitment team, but there is one problem: they cannot afford him right now."

"Despite offloading some of their biggest earners, the Liga champions are still grappling with Financial Fair Play regulations and will need to sell several players if they are to afford new additions."

"A move for Vanderson will have to wait until next summer, with Monaco demanding a £52.6 million transfer fee, but Barcelona is aware of Manchester United's interest."

"The Red Devils are also big fans of the Brazilian, but they have other transfer priorities, including completing a deal for Chelsea contract rebel Mason Mount and finding a new striker."

"Once the midfield and attack have been strengthened, United are expected to concentrate on improving the right-back position, and they are interested in Vanderson."

According to various Dutch media sources, Bundesliga side Mainz O5 are likely to make a move for Dutch-born Ghanaian teenager Jesaja Riga Mustapha from Eridivisie side Vitesse Arnhem.

The Arnhem-based club's current contract with the 16-year-old potential centre-forward, who is now with the U-16 young team, will end this summer.

According to the Telegraaf, the German top-flight club is currently in the running to sign the youth talent away from his boyhood club, with a three-year contract on the table.

According to the source, Villearreal and Feyenoord are also keeping tabs on the young adolescent in an attempt to woo him away from his current club.

If Vitesse Arnhem loses their youth potential to Mainz O5, the German club will only pay €200,000 to his Dutch employers for his development.

Jesaga is the son of retired Ghanaian footballer Rahamat Riga Mustapha, who previously played for Bolton Wanderers, Levante, and Sparta Rotterdam.

Despite playing for the Netherlands U-15 and U-16 national youth teams, the Arnhem-born adolescent is still entitled to switch allegiance and represent Ghana on the international level.
