While Manchester City gets ready to face Inter Milan in the Champions League final on Saturday, Kevin De Bruyne insisted that there would be no room for complacency.

As they attempt to win the competition for the first time - and complete the treble - in Istanbul, City are the clear favorites.

In Serie A this season, Inter came in 18 points behind champions Napoli, but De Bruyne is mindful of Simone Inzaghi's team's danger.

The playmaker for Belgium stated, "You don't advance to the Champions League final without being the best. They may have won both cups in Italy, in my opinion. At the end of the season, they had been winning almost all of their games.

They have their own system, their own style, and they are excellent at what they do, so I don't believe anyone will anticipate an easy matchup with Inter. Since it's a final, the odds are even.

The closest was City's finish as runners-up to Chelsea in 2021, despite the club's long-standing desire to win the Champions League.

Their disappointments stand in stark contrast to their domestic triumphs, which include five Premier League titles in the previous six seasons.

Pep Guardiola, the manager, has admitted that for City to be really regarded as one of the top clubs, they will need to carry over their domestic victories to the European stage.

I've been here for eight years, and it's been great, said De Bruyne. Could I have came here and imagined how many matches and prizes we would win over the next eight years? Most likely not.In the end, we have had a pretty great career at City, but there is still something we want to win that we haven't done yet. "We know how big the moment is, but I feel the more relaxed you are as a team, and the team is doing pretty well with that right now, you get a better chance," he said, expressing the hope that it will be on Saturday.

De Bruyne, who had a major facial injury two years ago, still vividly recalls the final defeat to Chelsea.
