Due to Lionel Messi's impending arrival in the United States, ticket prices for Inter Miami's Major League Soccer games have increased significantly. For example, entry to see the team play the New York Red Bulls in August now costs roughly $300 per seat, representing a staggering 1400 percent inflation.

The seven-time winner of the Ballon d'Or will soon join David Beckham's team after turning down offers from Barcelona and Saudi Arabia to spend his final few seasons of illustrious career on the other side of the Atlantic.

Tickets for Messi's potential thrashing of the Red Bulls on August 26 have increased to a minimum of $400 now that the 35-year-old's free transfer is almost complete, according to Seat Geek.

Furthermore, tickets for the game began to go on sale at $25 before Messi's decision was revealed.

Football fans in the US are clamoring for a glimpse of Messi when he tours America's biggest cities, and some tickets are currently selling for as much as $2,000 for a pitch-side seat.

Despite The Herons being in last place in the Eastern Conference Standings, ticket prices for other, if not the majority of Inter Miami's MLS games have also skyrocketed.

Tickets for Inter Miami's away match against LAFC, one of MLS's top-selling teams, start at $383.

Ticket prices for The Herons' match at Orlando City SC start at $206, while those for their home game versus New York City FC start at least $19.

Additionally, Seat Geek indicates that tickets for Miami's away game against Chicago Fire will start selling for at least $235.

Messi has frequently stated over the past year that he would prefer to play in the United States and he owns property there.

Although the specifics of a deal with Inter Miami are currently unknown, Messi would almost surely set a new record for the biggest pay in MLS history. Lorenzo Insigne will receive a record $14 million from Toronto FC.

A partial ownership share in Inter Miami, which is owned by Beckham, billionaire businessman Jorge Mas, and Jose Mas, could also be made available to him.

Since Beckham joined the LA Galaxy in 2007, Messi's arrival would be the league's most high-profile acquisition. Messi playing in the United States would be beneficial for the league, according to MLS commissioner Don Garber, who said as much to The Athletic in March.

Garber described Messi as "possibly the most special player in the history of the game." So it's fantastic when there are speculations linking him to Miami. And if it could happen, it would be fantastic for the MLS as well as for Messi and his family. However, like with everything else, we strive to squander every opportunity.

With 15 points, Inter Miami (5-11-0) is presently last in the Eastern Conference. Miami (15 goals) is the only team in the East to have more goals than New York City FC (11).
