Seamus Coleman, Tom Davies, and Andy Lonergan have received new contracts with Everton, while Yerry Mina and Andros Townsend will be leaving the team this summer.
With nearly 400 appearances for the Toffees, including 25 last season, Coleman, 34, has been given the opportunity to remain at Goodison Park.
Davies, a product of the club's junior program, made just 20 appearances in the previous campaign, but Sean Dyche wants him and backup goalie Lonergan in his team.
Mina, a 27 million acquisition from Barcelona in 2018, will leave the club at the conclusion of his current deal following a rocky spell there, while Townsend, who did not play for the team after March 2022, also leaves at the end of his current deal.
Asmir Begovic, the goalkeeper, will depart after declining a new contract offer.
On the club's official website, director of football Kevin Thelwell wrote: "Everyone at the club wishes to thank all departing players for their contribution throughout their time at Everton."Andros and Asmir, who were model professionals throughout their two years at the club, as well as Yerry, whose enthusiasm and tenacity for Everton were clear from how highly our fans thought of him, are among the senior men's players who are going on.We wish each of them the best of luck in their future professional endeavors.
In order to put together a strong team for Sean Dyche and his coaching staff for the upcoming season, we have also extended new contracts to players, and we will keep in contact with them. Now that the dust has settled and the Blues have once more avoided the dreaded drop, we can start to look around, assess the issue, and take steps to prevent a repeat of the very same problem that we, as fans, have been suffering through for, well, pretty much the entire season. If we're being kind, the team is a startlingly mediocre one, so before we can examine the urgent need to add fresh talent to improve it, we should first be looking at what we already have.
