Steven Hammell, a former Motherwell manager, has been named the new head of academy coaching at Celtic.
The 41-year-old was Fir Park's academy director before being elevated to lead the first team at the start of the most recent season.
After only six months in charge, Hammell was fired in February. He will now return to the game in a new capacity, managing the growth of the Hoops' junior program and teaching at all levels.
Hammell told the Celtic website, "It is a wonderful honor to join Celtic and I am incredibly delighted about the chance that has been offered to me.
"The club is going through a very successful and exciting period at all levels, and I'm looking forward to adding my own contribution to the outstanding work already being done across our academy."I am aware that the club has a long history of producing young players. It is a crucial area for the club, and I am eager to get going and do my part in helping our coaches develop our players so they can contribute at the highest levels to this fantastic club.
Hammell will report to Chris McCart, the head of the Celtic academy, who believes the former Well manager's experience with youth development will be useful in his new role.
