Barcelona will continue to search for a defensive midfielder throughout the summer, with Sergio Busquets having decided to leave the club as a free agent after his contract expires.

The Catalans have a host of players in the position, including Martin Zubimendi, Ruben Neves, Oriol Romeu, Arthur Vermeeren and Fiorentina's Sofyan Amrabat.

The Moroccan midfielder is also set to join Barcelona this winter. The club offered the Italian giants a loan deal with the option to buy the midfielder this summer for 40 million euros but it was turned down.

The player who is still 'crazy' when playing for Barcelona is likely to leave this summer. His price, according to SPORT, has been lowered by Fiorentina to 20 million euros. Barcelona is aware of this price change.

Reports suggest signings are on track and his transfer could be made easier this summer.

He is one of Xavi's favorite mainstay picks, even though he's not a priority for the club. The coaching staff prefer Zubimendi to Amrabat, but the player's price is set at 60 million euros - his release clause - non-negotiable. Fiorentina believes Amrabat has helped Fiorentina by staying at the club in January and is ready to let him go this summer.

They are about to lose to West Ham in the UEFA Conference League final and are out of European competition next summer and will need to free up space in their squad to raise money through player sales.

Meanwhile, Amrabat has a number of offers but a move to Barcelona is above all. Fiorentina could also be interested in some of the Blaugranes' inferior players such as Nico Gonzalez, Sergino Dest and Samuel Umtiti.
