Manchester City fans have joked that Romelu Lukaku is a club legend after missing his chance to start for Inter Milan in the Champions League final.
The Belgian striker came on in the second half, replacing the injured Edin Dzeko.
Immediately afterwards, the Italians took a 1-0 lead thanks to Rodri's 20-meter strike, with the Spaniard accurately hitting the bottom corner of the goal.
But Inter will always fight back, with some great opportunities. Federico Dimarco's shot hit the crossbar for Inter, but Lukaku inadvertently saved a header that hit the post. Advertisement
But the big moment came a few minutes after the end. Substitute Robin Gosens headed the ball into the box for Inter, with Lukaku in position to take the shot.
However, his header from close range went straight into Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson, who instinctively dropped to his knees to stop the Belgian from scoring.
Lukaku had a much tougher chance, his feeble effort past a defender's foot but once again hitting the Brazilian keeper.
