The Qatari banker submitted an improved fifth offer to buy the Red Devils on Wednesday after apparently becoming frustrated with the Glazers' continued hesitation.
Sheikh Jassim, who wants to take full control of the club, made his first offer to United in February and is the favorite candidate, taking on the role alongside British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe . The latter wants to buy a majority stake, while the Qatari wants full control. The BBC claims that Al-Khelaifi was contacted by the Glazers last month as United bosses tried to convince Sheikh Jassim to increase his offer, which he has of course done since. The second insisted throughout the process that his offers were made on an individual basis.
