The winger spent last season on loan at Fulham before returning to the Sky Bet Championship with relegated Leeds.
Rob Page, the manager of Wales, has instructed premier league clubs to pursue "Premier League player" Daniel James.
The future of the Wales winger's club career is still up in the air following Leeds' Sky Bet Championship relegation.
James spent the 2018–19 campaign on loan at Fulham, but he has since returned to Leeds and the Championship, where he excelled at Swansea and secured a 2019 transfer to Manchester United.
According to Page, DJ is a Premier League player and could easily return to the league.
"Personaly, if I were a Premier League manager and learned that he was available, I would sign him.
As his Welsh manager, I feel obligated to admit that he always presents a threat to me.
He still needs to improve, but with his speed, a club would be daring to play a high line against him.
James joined Leeds from Manchester United in August 2021 for a price of £25 million.
With only five Premier League starts out of 23 appearances across all competitions, the 25-year-old Fulham player struggled to get into games while also scoring three goals.
James started 34 straight competitive games before being benched for the World Cup loss to Iran in November. James has frequently saved his greatest performances for a Wales jersey.
In recent months, "He has taken one for the team because I've asked him to play a different role," Page stated in front of upcoming Euro 2024 qualifying matches against Armenia and Turkey.
He enjoys playing with a wide left, and the way we currently play works for us because he gives us the left-side width.
"He's that option in the background, and having a tool like that in your arsenal is really effective," said the speaker.
