Andre Onana, the goalkeeper for Inter, has acknowledged that, despite his desire to remain at the club through the summer, he might be forced to leave during the transfer window.
Since joining the Nerazzurri from Ajax last summer, Onana has been one of the team's standout players, and he played up to the expectations during Saturday's Champions League final loss to Manchester City.
The Cameroonian, though, might quit San Siro after just one season. Inter's financial difficulties may force them to earn money through player sales, with Onana one of their main assets who could fetch a high price, as 90min originally reported in February.
While Tottenham has also been closely monitoring Onana's position, it is believed that they may prioritize a deal for David Raya of Brentford. Chelsea are particularly interested in Onana.
Onana said to reporters after the Champions League final that he will go if the club requests it, despite the fact that he would want to stay.
"I'm so, so happy at Inter," Onana exclaimed. "At this professional level, anything can occur.
"I'm open for Inter, and I'll accept whatever they decide. I enjoy being at Inter."
Pep Guardiola, the manager of Man City, reserved special admiration for Onana after Saturday's championship game.
"The forwards hold the ball up and move the ball around when you have a goalie like Onana who can read everyone's passing intentions precisely, together with [Hakan] Calhanoglu and [Nicolo] Barella. It is quite challenging. Without this goalkeeper, it would be slightly simpler, but it would still be very difficult, Guardiola remarked in his post-game press conference.
In the 202223 season, Inter was a very perplexing football team that went through extraordinary highs and extreme lows.
The Nerazzurri under Simone Inzaghi continued to prove they are a very good cup team and won two more trophies while only narrowly losing to Manchester City in the Champions League final. They lost a frankly ridiculous number of games in Serie A and definitely underwhelmed in the league.
