Arsenal fans believe their undefeated side are now the best in Premier League history after Manchester City equalized Manchester United's famous treble in 1999.

Sir Alex Ferguson's United became the first team to win the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League treble in 1999, after beating Bayern Munich 2-1 in the last final at Camp Nou.

Liverpool are the only former English club to win the European Cup and Champions League treble. Bob Paisley's side added the League Cup to their First Division and European Cup titles in 1984.

As a result, City entered an exclusive draw after beating Inter Milan 1-0 in the Champions League final on Saturday night.

After winning the Premier League, Pep Guardiola's men beat United in the FA Cup final before being crowned at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.

Prior to their victory, one of the most popular debates in English football was whether United's 1999 hat-trick team or Arsenal's all-season unbeaten 2003/04 were the best team of the century. original Premier League or not.

And Gunners fans believe they finally have the answer.

Arsenal fans' reaction after Man City's win

Sharing on Twitter, a host of Gunners fans believe that Man City's repeat of United's 1999 treble makes Arsenal's Invincibles under Arsene Wenger the greatest team ever to be honored in the Premier League.

They became the second English Premier League team to achieve this feat in 2004, following Preston North End in 1888/89. An Arsenal fan wrote, in the context of the Gunners receiving the Premier League gold trophy:

"Never copied. Greatest achievement by an English team, until someone else can copy it."

Another said:

"The Invincibles will be the only record to stand the test of time."

And a third fan said:

"Arsenal's Invincibles > Man United's Treble. The Treble can be compared as we have seen. Invincibles cannot."

Meanwhile, another fan consulted Ferguson himself when discussing Arsenal's Invincibles as part of a documentary about Wenger:

"Achievement comes first."

However, fans of other clubs and even Arsenal supporters disagree. One person said:

"The achievements of Man City, United and all of Liverpool's CL titles go beyond him by a mile."

"I really don't understand that. Man City just won the Champions League and the treble, but let's talk about us going unbeaten all season... we haven't won the league since."
