Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is said to be keen to coach in Italy when he leaves the Premier League.

Pep Guardiola will not be leaving Manchester City this summer, according to reports. The Spaniard will consider the final two years of his contract at the Etihad but is unlikely to sign an extension beyond 2025.

Guardiola has led Man City for seven years, this is the longest managerial tenure he has at a club. Before that, he had never led a team for more than four years at Barcelona. City enjoy unprecedented success under Guardiola. They have won five Premier League titles, four League Cups, two FA Cups and finally ended their wait for the Champions League title on Saturday.

A 1-0 win over Inter Milan in Istanbul completed a historic treble, with City becoming the second English side to achieve such a feat after Manchester United in 1999. City fans fear that Guardiola might call him one day after their dream season.

But the Times says that won't happen. In a blow to rival teams, Guardiola will stay on for the next two seasons.

He will continue to be of support in the transfer market as City look to build a truly memorable campaign. However, the report says there is little chance for Guardiola to sign a new contract.

Staying until 2025 would extend Guardiola's stay at Man City to nine years. He has only had three years in charge of his former club Bayern Munich, after taking a one-year sabbatical following his time at Barca. Guardiola is already one of the longest serving managers in the Premier League today. Only Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool has spent more time at the same club as the 52-year-old.

Reports say that Guardiola dreams of one day managing in Italy. However, there are no realistic options for him currently in Serie A.

Guardiola has criticized UEFA and FIFA for organizing their match following Saturday's final win over Inter. He admitted that he is yet to consider his plans for next season, a comment that has some City fans worried.

Guardiola told BT Sport:

“At the moment I don't have the energy to think about next season - it's impossible. We all need rest, the season is too long.

"Most of these people come to their national team to play games, so honestly, UEFA, FIFA, think about it. Did they finish the Premier League two weeks ago? They come back from vacation after playing too many games.

"These guys will have two or three weeks off and start again next season. We ask for them and push them and push them, it's too much."
