A couple of weeks ago, Nigerian socialite and Chef Hilda Baci broke the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest cooking by humans for over 100hours besting the previous Indian chef Lata Tandon who cooked for 87 hours and 45 minutes non-stop. Hilda took it upon herself to break the record and gradually did with the help of friends, family, and friends. We saw popular Nigerian celebrities like Charles Okocha, Enioluwa, Korty eo, Dremo, and other celebrities as well as politicians passing through to cheer her up as she cooked to break the record. She cook for four straight days and after everything, the official Twitter account of the Guinness World Record tweeted revealing that, they are reviewing all the evidence of the cooking and once it was done, Hilda Baci will be crowned the winner and receive the certificate for her record.
The certificate has not yet been handed over to Hilda neither has the Guinness World Record board announced her winner, however, a Nigerian chef identified as Chef DAMI is challenging to break the record and announced she is cooking for 120 hours nonstop to break Hilda’s record. Her decision sparked a whole lot of conversation as to why she would try to break Hilda’s record even though she hasn't been awarded yet. Most online users called her out for actions, however, Hilda Baci a is waiting to be announced as the new Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking decided to encourage Chef Dami despite her decision to break her yet-to-be-announced record.
Taking to her official Twitter handle, Hilda Baci writes the following;
“The beauty of dreams is that they are unique to each individual. Dami, your boldness to take on a cooking challenge shows that passion knows no limits. Embrace the journey, learn from every experience, and inspire others with your unwavering spirit...
Her tweet sparked a whole lot of conversations and reactions from users, a few of them are highlighted below;
