Jennifer Appiah, also known as Maa Akua, a 32-year-old woman, allegedly stabbed her boyfriend Joseph Bawa to death multiple times on Sunday, following a misunderstanding that ensued between the two at Ayigya Zongo in the Greater Kumasi of Ashanti Region.
According to Madam Hawa Alhasan, the mother of the deceased, her son was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Hospital, also known as Tech Hospital. Police investigation has commenced, and the body of the deceased has been deposited at the KNUST Hospital morgue.
The incident has sent shockwaves throughout Kumasi, with many residents expressing their shock and disbelief at the tragic turn of events. The police have launched an investigation into the matter and are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
Domestic violence is a serious issue that affects many families in Ghana and around the world. It is important for both men and women to recognize the signs of an unhealthy relationship and seek help if they are in danger or feel threatened. The government and civil society organizations in Ghana have taken steps to address the issue of domestic violence, but more needs to be done to raise awareness and provide support to victims and their families.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to the family and friends of Kwame Owusu during this difficult time. We will continue to follow this story and provide updates as more information becomes available.
