Jennifer Appiah, also known as Maa Akua, a 32-year-old woman, allegedly stabbed her boyfriend Joseph Bawa to death multiple times on Sunday, following a misunderstanding that ensued between the two at Ayigya Zongo in the Greater Kumasi of Ashanti Region.
According to Madam Hawa Alhasan, the mother of the deceased, her son was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Hospital, also known as “Tech Hospital”. She couldn't explain what caused the misunderstanding between the deceased and the suspect but added that the woman had threatened the deceased with a knife or scissors on several occasions.
Despite urging her son to stop dating the suspect, he refused, leading to his unfortunate demise. The suspect has escaped, and the family is pleading with the police to arrest her and bring her to book. Police investigation has commenced, and the body of the deceased has been deposited at the KNUST Hospital morgue.
The incident has sent shockwaves throughout Kumasi, with many residents expressing their shock and disbelief at the tragic turn of events. The police have launched an investigation into the matter and are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
