Stuart Webber, Norwich's sports director, has informed the Sky Bet Championship team that he would be leaving his position at Carrow Road.
When Daniel Farke was the head coach, Webber oversaw two successful Championship title campaigns before moving to Norwich from Huddersfield in April 2017.
Webber faced personal criticism as the Canaries failed to mount a second quick promotion back to the Premier League following relegation, despite replacing Dean Smith with David Wagner last season.
A replacement has already been chosen, with Webber expected to stay in his position and continue working a notice period during the transition.
Neil Adams, a former player and manager for Norwich, will take over as the next technical director.
"The support I've had from all the board, past and present, throughout my time at the club has been outstanding," Webber stated on the Norwich website.Delia (Smith) and Michael (Wynn Jones), the joint majority stockholders, are two of the most exceptional people I've ever encountered. They genuinely care about Norwich City, its employees, and its supporters.
I can't express my gratitude for their effort enough after watching so many members of the team grow and improve.
I look forward to the new chapter and contributing however much or little I can throughout this transition over the upcoming months, he continued. The board is aware of my steadfast support for them.
Thank you to everyone board member, employee, player, and supporter I have encountered. I send the team my best wishes and want to watch from a distance.
Delia Smith and Michael Wynn Jones, the primary shareholders together, paid tribute to Webber in a statement.
They claimed, "While we certainly supported his decision, we were devastated when Stuart came to our home in early March to announce he wanted to depart at the end of his contract.
We've worked with this wonderful football club for 28 years, but we've never encountered such quality. We are a completely different football team than the one he joined in 2017 in terms of camaraderie and shared support.
