Jack Grealish, a winger for Manchester City, says he has had "the best day and night" as the team celebrates their treble-winning season after winning the Champions League.
Even the normal Manchester downpour and passing lightning storm could not dampen Pep Guardiola and his team's spirits as they carried the Premier League trophy and FA Cup with their newly won European Cup.
City arrived back from Istanbul on Sunday afternoon, and since then it has been one big party. The fun is expected to go a bit longer, as Grealish was overheard asking striker Erling Haaland during their mile-long tour of the city's center: "Are we having it?"
The £100 million deal was met with a bottle of champagne being emptied by Haaland, who then addressed the big throng gathered in St. Peter's Square that he had just had the best day and night. To be fair, I don't believe I've slept.
The players had taken a Metrolink tram from Etihad Stadium to the procession, although the rain made things a little slower.
Due to the possibility of lightning storms, the time at which fans were supposed to be let into the fanzone in front of the stage was delayed by 90 minutes.
The start of the event was delayed by 40 minutes due to rain that began shortly after 6 o'clock, but the spectators were unfazed.
People flocked to support City's team and boss Guardiola while donning matching "Treble winners" T-shirts.
These now-soaked t-shirts began to be abandoned halfway through the game when City's 52-goal striker Haaland flung his into the crowd and, along with the rest of the team, appeared on stage 45 minutes later than scheduled still without a top.
Guardiola remarked, "We had to be the best parade with this rain, otherwise it is not Manchester," to the joy of the waiting fans.
We prefer rain to sunshine, so the weather was ideal. The rain is nothing new to them (fans).
