The new CEO of Huddersfield has been named as Jake Edwards.

Edwards, who was born in Manchester and played for Wrexham and Exeter at various points in his career, joins the Terriers after serving for eight years as the president of the United Soccer League in America.

After Edwards took over, David Baldwin reverted to his previous position as a strategic advisor to the club's ownership and board and resigned from his managing director post.

"I am thrilled to be joining Huddersfield Town as CEO to help lead the next phase of growth for the club," Edwards exclaimed.

"After 25 years of working in the professional football industry, I understand the enormous honor and great responsibility of contributing to the future of this legendary club.

The possibility of working with the potential new owner, Kevin Nagle, excites me. I have been pleased by both his devotion to the club and this community as well as his vision for what may be accomplished here.

Huddersfield, which finished last season in the Sky Bet Championship under Neil Warnock, also revealed that potential owner Kevin M. Nagle had passed the EFL's owners' and directors' exam.

However, "still awaiting clearance from a statutory government body" is the American businessman's purchase of a 100% interest in the club.

When the takeover is finished, Dean Hoyle's 14-year affiliation with the club will come to an end.

After being released by Middlesbrough, the 30-year-old was hired in January on a six-month contract.

In the second part of the previous campaign, he made 16 appearances and scored twice as Town earned promotion from League One.

Luongo told the Ipswich website, "I'm thrilled to stay and I think it'll be special playing for the club in the Championship."

Although the division is competitive, this is a significant season for us and one to look forward to.

Luongo began his career at Tottenham, then in 2012, he spent an 11-game loan at Ipswich.

Before joining Middlesbrough in September, he played for Swindon, QPR, and Sheffield Wednesday. However, he never appeared for the Teesside club's first team.
